Paul has been coding like a madman, and come up with something really strange and amazing... It is flash, but your code is written in 100% javascript, from the browser. Take a look here http://www.aflax.org/demos/barchart.html for a sample (requires Flash 8 player). There is a generic 3k swf file you place in the browser, and then the application is coded entirely in javascript. This means, among other things, anyone with a text editor can make flash files -- nice!

Double bonus this is all open source : ). I am really anxious to try and write against this when I get a moment. One thing that would be super cool I think would be the ability to write in your own preferred syntax or language. Javascript can rewrite script elements on the fly, so you could transform one syntax into standard aflax code on the fly. Its funny javascript is almost identical to actionscript, but the few tiny differences do open a world of possibilities : ).
