I've had the pleasure of working along side Tim Linklater in the past, I think his art/2D/3D skills speak for themselves, but what you don't see from his work is he is actually a wild man from the interlake that is totally hilarious to get drunk with. Well, maybe you would get that impression on some things, but parts of it still need to be experienced. I beleive the lucky bastard is currently working on the NHL stuff at EA. Hard to top that without getting fully naked. Frankly, that would have to be fully naked with a shaved head, and repeatedly at that.

Anyway, if you have any interest in 3D, he has a community site going that could be a great resource. Lots of demos and critiques, tips and tricks, and interviews with people at the top of the game... I think this grew from people posting demo reels and getting honest feedback from others -- something you can still do there (which is in the end all you really need (plus sweat) to get good at anything).
