I was lucky enough to get a demo of this, and be on the beta list. It is from the good folks at Electric Rain, the makers of Swfit3D and more.

People complain there isn't enough innovation in software, and frankly they are right. But! But StandOut is packed with new ideas, it really makes you rethink things. One example is "flypaper" - you know that space that wasted background grey space when you have two or three windows opened. You have to check out what they've done with it, not just used, but very cleverly. I'm looking around for wasted pixels all the time now : ).

Lots more in there, cool UI, what can I say, check it out! Oh, and expect presentations to be a little less boring in the future : ).

So do you think what's cool how they designed the app or on what it produces?

It produces very nice presentations, which is great. Personally I avoid doing presentations as much as others avoid attending them, so it isn't tailored to me specifically (though I'd be happy to see more interesting powerpoint slides in general).

I REALLY like some of the UI directions they've went though. Almost no one experiments with UI, and the ones that do tend to just be annoying and predictable (aka rotating cube with six buttons, ugh!). This actually has some things that are very new, and very useful. I think flypaper could go on to change the way people work with software - it is kind of the dream of OLE, but useful and at your fingertips.

Oh, and it doesn't crash and infect your machine -- that was a loose comparison : ). Then again neither did the 'dream' of OLE, just the implementation : ).
